Long form of periodic table is also called as Modern Periodic Table. It is based on Modern periodic law, which states that,
“The properties of elements are periodic function of their atomic numbers”.
In the long form of periodic table, the elements are arranged in the increasing order of their atomic number in seven horizontal rows called Periods and eighteen vertical columns called Groups.
